  • First Annual Eryri Awards Night

The Club heals it’s very first annual awards night at Porthmadog Golf Club. Organised by Nicola Jones and Tania McDaid, the evening was a raging success with gymnasts from each group winning either a “Most Improved” or “Special Recognition” Award. Special mention to Charlie Nicklin who recieved an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ Award presented to her by our Head Coach and her coach; David Morris.

Charlie came 3rd through Wales earlier in the year in her age group in the Welsh Tumbling NDP’s (National Development Plan) and was subsequently invited to step in to the Welsh Squad competing as a region in the British Semifinals in Birmingham Arena. Charlie came 19th in Britain, a tremendous achievement!

A Lifetime Award was given to John Pike in recognition for his long standing contribution to the club along with his wife Brenda. John and Brenda have been instrumental in the set up and development of Eryri Gymnastics Club. John has not only developed outstanding gymnasts but has nurtured them into coaches. John and Brenda will always be loved and remembered for everything they and others have done for the club.
