Eryri Gymnastics Club : FAQ

Q. Why has my child been invited to a trail session at Eryri Gymnastics?
A. Eryri Gymnastics Club selects gymnasts that show aptitude and commitment to develop their gymnastics skills.

Q. How much do classes cost?
A. Currently £3.00/hour plus annual British Gymnastics insurance (£15.00) and annual club membership (£15.00).

Q. Where does Eryri Gymnastics Club train?
A. Eryri Gymnastics Club trains every Sunday during term time at Plas Silyn Leisure, Pen y Groes, see map.

Q. What are the directions?
A. Take the A483 to Pen y Groes and turn on to Ffordd y Sir (County Road) road by the HSBC bank on the High Street. Pass the police station (on your right) and continue for 500m until the Plas Silyn Leisure Centre can been seen on your left.

Q. Can we stay & watch?
A. Yes, Plas Silyn Leisure Centre in Pen y Groes has large viewing gallery as well as a cafe that serves hot/cold drinks and light meals.

Q. Will they need to buy any special equipment?
A. Club members are required to purchase a club leotard for training sessions and attendance at competitions. They cost from £40.00 and can be bought through Frances Lewis.

Q. Are gymnasts encouraged to take part in any competitions?
A. Yes, gymnasts are encouraged to compete at local, regional and national competitions. Gymnasts have the opportunity to attend up about 5 competitions each year. The cost of attending competitions (entry fees and traveling costs) are in addition to club training fees.

Q. Will my child still need to attend the weekly Leisure Centre's training sessions?
A. Yes, it is a condition of the club membership that they continue with basic element sessions at their local leisure centre.

Q. Does the club have Welsh speaking instructors?
A. Yes, all of our coaches are fully bilingual.

Q. How can I help?
A. Eryri Gymnastics Club is a not-for-profit making club, and relies on the support of parents. We especially need help with:
